Museum of woodcarving and icon painting in town of Tryavna is housed in the building of тхе "Old School" (Daskalovata house) - the first secular school in Bulgaria. This is the only museum of woodcarving in the country.
There are exhibited collections of interesting antique clocks, paintings, wooden statues, carvings, precious manuscripts and documents.
For visitors will be Interestingly the restoration of a school classroom as it had looked in the past (the school was opened in 1839). There are exhibited student desks with arranged in chronological order tools related to the educational process - sand, which was used for writing in the beginning in order errors to be easy corrected, after this small boards, and at last ink-pots.
