Historical Museum of Karlovo is situated in the central part of the old town, opposite the Church of St. Nicholas. The museum is housed in a historic building from 1971, which was a boys` school.
The exhibition is disposed at an area of 800m2 in different sections - Archaeology, Ethnography, Renaissance and New Bulgarian history. It shows the history and lifestyle of Karlovo and region from prehistoric times until today.
In the Vazrajdane (Renaissance) section are exposed many documents, photos and objects related to economic, cultural and social life of the city and the most eminent teachers and educators from this period - Dr. Ivan Bogorov, brothers Hristo and Evlogi Georgiev and others.
In the ethnographic department are shown interesting collections of textiles, clothing, jewelry, folk customs and tools related to crafts from the past - braiding, weaving, goldsmith, rose and others.
