In Archaeological museum in Sozopol are Exhibited are many unique archaeological artifacts from the 5th to the 17th c. vases, tablecloths and terracotta statuettes found at the Apollonia necropolis, on Harmanite Beach as well as Christian art from the 17th to the 19th c. Presented are also a number of texts, maps, photographs and schemes.
The museum is hosted in the building of the temple St. Kiril i Metodiy placed by the Holy Synod (1961) at disposal of the municipality for the needs of the museum and also in several halls provided (1978) by Cultural Centre of Sozopol.
Highlights: the largest collection in Bulgaria of painted antique ceramics from the end of the VI-II c. BC. The largest collection of Ionic ceramics and plastic arts. Collection entitled "Workshop whit ovens for ceramics XII - XVc."
Working time: summer (june-octomber): 08.00-17.00 h.; winter (november-may): 08.00-12.00 h. Closed: Winter - Sundays and Mondays
