Feast Zlatograd Cheverme (May)

The first edition of the culinary festival "Celebration of Zlatograd Cheverme" (cheverme is lamb BBQ) was held on May 3, 2014 in the town of Zlatograd. The event sparked widespread interest among Bulgarian and foreign tourists and there were around 10 thousand visitors attended. The idea of ​​the organizers is фестижал to become an annual event and to attract more visitors.

During the celebration, the people of Zlatograd show their skill in the preparation of lamb barbecue and other authentic dishes (such as bulgur, meat under "churup", butter in "burilo", etc.).

At the same time they demonstrate the traditions and history of the Rhodopes. The visitors can see traditional Rhodope costumes and objects from the past, to hear the colorful Rhodope dialect, to feel the dances, the music and the mystical sound of Rhodopean bagpipes.
