Museum of the Bulgarian Revival and Constituent Assembly
"Museum of the Bulgarian Revival and Constituent Assembly" is located in city of Veliko Tarnovo. It is housed in an old Turkish building ("konak" - had used from the Turkish authorities). This 3-storey construction was made by master Kolyu Ficheto (famous Bulgarian builder from the Revival period) in 1872. Building was transformed in museum in 1985.
The museum exhibition includes Christian arts during the period of Ottoman domination as icons collections, achievements of wood, etc, documents and objects related to the Economic development of Tarnovo in the period of the Renaissance, exponents of famous Bulgarian revolutionaries and people of the region who struggles for the Liberation during the time of the Ottoman domination.
On the third floor is restored the hall of the Constituent Assembly. This is the place where the First Bulgarian Constitution was worked out and signed in 1879.
