In the archives of the Archaeological Museum Burgas are stored objects and documents related to archaeological researches in the entire Bourgas region - many artifacts from the prehistoric, Thracian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Old Bulgarian and Ottoman culture.
The current exhibition was created in 1989 and some of the exhibits are: the oldest round sculpture ever found in Bulgaria (an ancient Greek marble statue from the peninsula Atia, dating from the early V century B.C. ), Hellenistic reliefs from ancient town of Mesambria, marble fragments of statues (from the ancient town of Apollonia), painted Attic pottery terracotta from Bourgas mineral baths, the famous inscription of the Thracian dynasty Sadala, jewelry and objects from the Roman domination over Thrace, the Latin inscription from the village Punchovo and others.
There are also sculpted reliefs of the Thracian horseman, Dionysus, Hercules and other ancient deities.
