The Historical Museum of Melnik is housed in Pashova house - a building dating from 1815. The museum is a subsidiary of the historic museum of town of Sandanski.
In the museum was established an ethnographic exposure related to the life and culture of the Bulgarians from Pirin Macedonia. Special attention is paid to the basic livelihood of the local population - the wine producing.
The exhibition is engaged into 8 rooms. At the first floor are shown exhibits related to the wine-producing and to the famous local wine variety - Melnishka loza. In other rooms on the next floor are set out findings related to the history of region of Melnik which are dated to many periods - from prehistoric to modern times. There are displayed the urban type of culture and customs of Greek families from Melnik during Vazrajdaneto period of Bulgaria.
The Historical Museum of Melnik is included in the list of The hundred tourist sites of the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTU).
