Historical museum Pavlikeni
The Historical Museum of Pavlikeni is housed in a beautiful two-storey building in the town center. Above the stairs of the museum there is and beautiful mural ornament made of different ceramic pieces.
On the first floor of the museum there is a large and spacious hall where art works are displayed - painted large canvases, paintings, sculptures and more. The hall is often used also for different temporary exhibitions.
On the second floor of the museum are displayed exhibits tracking the development of the region from ancient times until today. Here the visitors can see objects and coins from the past, folk costumes and clothing, handmade textiles and embroideries, models and restorations of scenes from the life of the local people in the past (weddings, Christmas holiday, Easter holiday, St. Trifon`s Day, etc.), tools, weapons, maps, photographs and documents related to the history of Pavlikeni, and others.
The museum keeps a very interesting exhibit - Eternal calendar. It was created before more than 140 years by an idea of Father Matthey Probrajenski and developed by a famous master woodcarver from Tryavna.
The museum has a well-grassed and well-developed yard, where are arranged parts of columns, found during excavations in the ancient ceramics center located near the town of Pavlikeni.
