House-museum "Peyo Yavorov"
The House-Museum "Peyo Yavorov" is located in the central part of Chirpan and is open all-year round. This is the birth-house of of the one of the greatest Bulgarian poets - Peyo Kracholov Yavorov (born January 1, 1878, died October 29, 1914, real name - Peyo Totev Kracholov). The museum was created October 31, 1954, on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the death of the poet.
The museum consists of Domestic exposition and separate exhibition hall.
- The domestic exposure includes 3 rooms (guests room, living room and "Peyova room"), which are arranged in the same way as they seemed in the beginning of the XX-th century. In "Peyovata room" is shown the work table of the poet, where he was created his first poems.
- The exhibition hall was established in 1973. Here are displayed photos and original belongings of Yavorov, which traced some highlights from the life and work of the poet - the old Chirpan, school years in Plovdiv, his work in a telegraph office, the period as a young poet in Sofia and his participation in the cultural circle "Misal" ("Thought"), Yavorov and IMRO, Mina Todorova , Laura Karavelova, his early death. There are exhibited personal and family belongings, parts of his personal library, print-editions of the poet, documents, portraits and paintings. Very valuable acquisition of the museum is donated in 2001 sculpture "Mother of Macedonia" by Prof. Ivan Lazarov.
The yard of the house-museum is green and full with flowers. There are sculptures and works of many famous Bulgarian artists like Mara Georgieva, Ivan Lazarov, Ivan Blajev, Dimitar Kirov and others.
The house-museum "Peyo Yavorov" in Chirpan is included in the list of "The 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgarian Tourist Union".
