Marble column with an inscription in Arabic

Type: Archaeological site

The Marble column is one of the landmarks of the village of Grancharovo. The column is located in the cemetery in the mosque courtyard. On it is written Arabic inscription from 1253, according to which the Sultan Mahmud II gave local Muslims an honorary letter.

There are only two similar columns in Bulgaria - one in Rousse and one in the museum in Silistra, which however is broken.
