At the beginning of the XX-th century (1904 -1907) in the town of Pordim was founded a museum devoted to the participation of Romania in the Russo-Turkish war 1877-1878. The Museum is housed in a house built after the war, but which is close to the building (also preserved in its original form), used by the Romanian army and Prince Carol I for a Headquarter during the battle for Pleven.
Most of the exhibits were donated to the museum by the Romanian military Ministry. There are shown different kinds Romanian military uniforms and weapons from this period.
The entrance to the Museum is free and includes a guide.
