The Roman Forum in Plovdiv was designed during reign of the Emperor Vespasianus in the I century and was completed in the II century. It is in immediate proximity to the Odeon.
The Forum was built over an area of 11 hectares and was surrounded by commercial and public buildings. The main streets of the ancient Philippopolis converged here.
