Jewish History Museum
The Jewish Historical Museum in Sofia was created May 8, 1992 and is the successor of the existed in the period 1968 - 1990 exposition "The rescue of Bulgarian Jews 1941-1944". The museum is housed in the building of the Sofia Synagogue and is managed by the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria - "Shalom".
The goal of the museum is to explore, study, promote and preserve the Jewish cultural and historical heritage in Bulgaria. Chronologically is traced the history and the life of Jews in the Bulgarian lands, their coexistence with other ethnic groups.
The museum stores multiple documents, publications and photos related to the religion of Judaism, Jewish holidays, customs, traditions, lifestyle and culture.

There are organized lectures in Bulgarian, English and Hebrew.
