On June 1 town of Vratsa celebrates its public holiday which is related to the feat of one of the most famous Bulgarian revolutionaries - Hristo Botev (see also The Monument of Hristo Botev in Vratsa) and his detachment during the fights for the Liberation of Bulgarian from the Ottoman yoke. The holiday is a part of the traditional "Botev Days" events, organized in Vratsa between May 24 and June 2.
