Medieval Fair in Asenovgrad

In June 2012 the Municipality of Assenovgrad organizes the first Independent Medieval Fair in Asenovgrad.

Event Dates: 22-24 June (22 June 24 13:00 to 14:00)

Location: Chapel of St. Athanasius (near the fortress Asenova krepost).

The Fair will recreate the Bulgarian Middle Ages and Middle Ages in the Balkans between 1185-1420 and the Period of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. According a legend on 24 June (Enyovday / Midsummer Day) was died Ivan Asen II.

There will be recreated the everyday life, the crafts, the martial arts of medieval Bulgarian and Balkan peoples of the Middle Ages. Here visitors will be able to touch and experience the Middle Ages - they will listen medieval music, will test medieval cuisine and games, will see real knights and soldiers from the Middle Ages.

 Everyone will be able to buy souvenirs in medieval style and more.
