Sliven Regional Historical Museum traces history of the Sliven region from the antique to nowadays. The main museum sections are:
- Archaeology - keeps objects from the period of the VI millennium BC till the end of the Second Bulgarian kingdom
- History from XV - XIX centuries - historical development of the town of Sliven and its region in the period
- Ethnography - the traditional culture of Sliven and its region, traditional costumes and clothing of the different ethnic groups
- New and the newest History - new section includes the period from 1885 to 1944 and Modern history - from 1944 up till now
