The remains of Roman fortresses "Kaleto" and "Daran-baran" are located about 500 meters south of the village of Krushuna. It is assumed that the fortress dating back to II century BC and were important strategic points in defense of the Romans against the invading from the north tribes - Goths, Carpi, Sarmatians, Vandals and Slavs.
The fortress "Daran-Baran" existed until the beginning of the XV century. From the west the castle was naturally protected by large rocks and there was not built a wall, while other walls were around 2 meters thick. The fortress has typical Roman construction. Part of its foundations are still preserved and can be seen.
The fortresses can be reached by eco-route Krushuna - Karpachevo. The view from there to both castles is magnificent.
