The Historical Museum of Montana was established in 1951 as Museum of the September uprising. It is located in the city center and contains many artifacts relating to the history of the region.
The museum has number of immovable cultural monuments from the period V-VI century BC - XX century AD. In the exhibition hall are displayed traces of the human life in the area. There are exhibited a collections of metal and ceramic vessels, antique marble sculptures, a silver treasure from XIII - XIV century and many icons. Original photographic material reproduce Montana in its view from the late XIX century and beginning of XX century.
