Kurtpashova tower
Kurtpashovata tower in town of Vratsa is situated near the central town square "Hristo Botev". It was built in XVII century as fortified home of a local feudal owner, but in elements of construction of the tower can be seen relation with the construction of castles in medieval Bulgaria (XIV century).
The tower has a shape of square (5.90 x 5.90 meters) and height of 11 meters. There are a total of 4 floors - underground, ground and two residential. The underground floor is the only arched, while the rest are divided each other by wooden beams filled with mortar and stones. The ground floor is 3 meters high and is used generally for defense of the building. The storey above has a height around 2.5 meters and 12 vent. Between the consoles there are openings for pouring hot liquids over the enemy. The top floor was entirely residential. Floors are reachable by a wooden shoulder staircase.
