History museum
The Historical Museum in town of Belogradchik is housed in "Panovata kashta" - a building from 1810 and declared monument of culture. The museum was created in 1970 and there are exposed more than 6000 exhibits related to the period of the Ottoman rule and the Bulgarian Renaissance. There are displayed objects (costumes, jewelry, tools) from the home life of the local population during the period and objects that traced the development of crafts in regions - such as goldsmithing, wood carving, homespun, tailoring, mutafchiistvo, pottery, copper.
Highlights in the exhibition are the revolt (with center Belogradchik) from 1810 against the Turkish, The National Liberation struggles from 1850, The Liberation of Bulgaria, the Serbian-Bulgarian war.
In the courtyard of the museum are exposed ancient tombstones found in region.
