This Museum of Sofia History was created after Sofia is chosen for the capital of Bulgaria. The museum owns more than 100 000 original exhibits. There are stored objects from archaeological excavations, coins, jewels, antique weapons, clothing, decorations and medals, theater and film posters, original documents and photos, possessions of famous Bulgarian historical figures as Tsar (king) Ferdinand, Stefan Stambolov, Dragan Tsankov, Konstantin Stoilov, etc.
