Zhabliano Monastery "St. John the Baptist" is located in the Konyavska Mountain (under Kurilovo peak), two kilometers south of the village of Jablyano, in the "Virova gradina" locality.
The date of its creation is unknown. During the times of the Ottoman rule the monastery was destroyed and was rebuilt again as late as XVIII century. In the first half of the XIX-th century in the monastery was founded a school.
From 1879 until his death in 1881 the abbot of the monastery was Averkiy Popstoyanov - a renowned educator and activist of the national struggle, who is buried in the church.
The monastery consists of a 3-nave, domed church dating from 1884, residential and commercial buildings.
Nowadays Zhabliano Monastery "St. John the Baptist" is acting, old-style monastery, and is declared a cultural monument.
