The ruins of the Gornenski grad fortress (aka Maglij fortress) are located 6km north of town of Maglij. The fortress was built somewhere in the Roman times on the left riverside of Maglizh river, at high rocky hill, and has finished its existence in the first years of the Turkish slavery. It was used from the Romans to guard the passage.
The site was disposed at an area of 18 000m2, over the awesome canyon, surrounded by the fortress walls. Some parts of the walls (mostly from the Middle Ages) with height up to 3 m. are still preserved. The place provides magnificent view to old part of town of Maglij.
