Historical museum
Dimitrovgrad Historical Museum was founded in 1951 as "Museum of the socialist construction" in order to trace the process of building and development of the new socialist town. This is the first museum of its kind in Bulgaria and for long period has been a model for oganization of other departments and museums, related to the recent socialist history.
The first permanent exhibition was opened in 1954. In 1963 the museum was renamed to "County Museum of the socialist construction" and in 1983 to the "Museum of the youth brigade movement in Bulgaria". Since 1998 the museum is named "Historical Museum - Dimitrovgrad" The museum aims to collect, preserve, store and exposes objects and documents related to the region of Dimitrovgrad in various stages of its development.

Hall "Brigade movement in Bulgaria" - The exhibition is unique for Bulgaria. Here are shown brigadier uniforms, banners, awards, photos of brigade life and others.
Hall "Dimitrovgrad" - traces the development of the town which in the 50s of the XX century was a symbol of the socialism.
Hall Archaeology - traces the history of settlements in the municipality from the Paleolithic to enslavement by the Turks. Below are the findings from the prehistoric settlement of the "Karabyulyuk" (Village of Yabalkovo), the ancient necropolis Merichleri, the medieval village and necropolis near the village of Krum and others.
The museum owns also an Exhibition Hall used for temporary and guest exhibitions.
