Petko Staynov (1896-1977) is a famous Bulgarian composer and music publicist. He was born on 12.01.1896 in the town of Kazanlak. In 1999 his house (declared a monument of culture of national importance), was turned into museum by the foundation "Petko Gruev Staynov". The museum is a branch of the Historical Museum "Iskra".
The exposition of museum "Petko Staynov House" is arranged in two halls and presents the life of the composer, his symphonic and choral work, his academic and musical activity, his publications and more. Here the visitors can see the originals and printed editions of his works, photos and documents, feedbacks from Bulgarian and foreign press related to his works, concert programs and posters, his articles and publications, personal items, decorations and medals he has been awarded.
One of the rooms in the house is arranged as a music hall, which features a piano and 30 seats. Here are held chamber concerts, literary readings, music classes for students from Kazanlak schools, rehearsals of musical groups.
