The City Art Gallery of Varna was opened in 1944. Since 1988 the gallery is housed in a beautiful building dating from the XIX century (1885) and built by master Gencho Kunchev from Tryavna (also participated in the construction of the Cathedral of Varna). Since 1999 gallery is named after the Varna artist Boris Georgiev (November 1, 1888 - April 9, 1962).
The museum fund includes works of Bulgarian and foreign artists which are exhibited in 8 halls at an area of about 1000m2.
