House-museum Georgi Velchev

George Velchev house-museum in Varna was established in 1961 and is dedicated to the great artist of Varna and the best Bulgarian marine artist - George Velchev (1891-1955). The museum is housed in his birth-house, which was donated to the city by his relatives. In 1996, the building was generally renovated and many of the Velchev`s paintings have been restored and exhibited.

The fund of the museum includes 240 works of George Velchev. 50 of them are exhibited in two of the halls, while other three rooms are used for different exhibitions of contemporary artists. The museum is the initiator of the Festival of Modern Art "August in Art".

The museum is a subsidiary of Varna City Art Gallery.
