Mal Asar fortress
Fortress "Mal Asar" (The Treasure Fortress) is located near the village of Vodenicharovo, on not so high rocky summit. The fortification was built in VI century but later, in XI century, it was upgraded and made more strong.
The castle was naturally protected and inaccessible from its north side while the most accessible side was from West. It had two internal sites, both surrounded by the outer wall. The Inner wall was built between two cliffs, one of which has 4 carved stone niches.
On the area of the first site (measuring 55 x 23 m) were discovered foundations of nine rooms with various sizes and irregular shapes, built of roughly cut stones and cemented with mud. At the second site (dimension 26 x 21 m) were discovered five other buildings, constructed in a similar way.
