The History Museum of Panagyurshte was opened in 1951. It has the following departments: Archeology, Ethnology, Bulgarian Territories within the Ottoman Empire between XV - XIX century, Early Modern and Modern History.
One of the most important expositions is this dedicated to the participation of Panagyurishte in the April Uprising in 1878.
Besides the building of the Historical Museum the museum complex also includes:
- Dudekov’s House Museum - architectural historical monument of national importance built in the middle of the XIX century;
- Dzhunov’s House Museum - contains the thematic exposition The Goldsmith School of Panagyurishte;
- Blue Hadzhidimitrov’s house-museum - contains the collection endowed by Ivan Deyanov;
- White Hadzhidimitrov’s house-museum, where the museum library is situated.
- Tutev house-museum
- Lekov house-museum
and more.
