Castra Martis fortress
Type: Fortress

Castra Martis fortress is situated on the teritory of the nowadays town of Kula. The site was part of the Roman province  of Dacia. It was built in the beginning of 4th century AD under the reign of Emperor Diocletianus I on the sheer slope above the defile of the Voinishka river, where nowadays is the center of  town of Kula. Castra Martis had a very important role in the defense of these lands.
