The church "Sveta Petka Bulgarska" near village of Rupite was built between 1992 - 1994 year in behest of the world famous Bulgarian prophetess Vanga. The project is of the architects Bogdan Tomalevski and Lozan Lozanov. The official dedication of the temple is on 14.10.1994. and was made by the Bishop of Nevrokop - Pimen.
The legacy of Baba Vanga is this chapel to be a place for spiritual and physical healing and home for all believers, regardless of their nationality and religion.
The frescoes and icons in the temple are very unique and unconventional. They are work of the the great Bulgarian artist Svetlin Rusev. The Iconostasis was made by Grigor Paunov.
In 2002, implementing the wish of Vanga, the established from her foundation began construction of a monastery complex near the temple. The complex (part of it is still under construction) includes an exhibition hall, a ritual hall, 2 bell towers, 12 rooms with 30 beds, fountains and holy springs with mineral water.
