Chapel of St.Petka

Chapel of St.Petka
Type: Church
Sveta Petka is venerated saint in the region of Strandja. This temple was built in her honor. It is located a few kilometers northeast of the village of Brashlyan. The chapel has a holy spring whose waters and mud (yellow in color) are considered to be healing and treating eczemas. There is a belief that before using the healing qualities of the holy spring, the sick man must bind a thread of his garment or cloth of the cornel tree near the spring or to throw a coin into it.

During religious festivals the region is a meeting place of many people from the surrounding villages.
