"St. Dimitar" church in village of Gorno Ablanovo (Borovo Municipality) was built in the period 1867 - 1870. It was built by voluntary means of the local population at place, used as christian cemetery till then.
The official opening of the church was in 1871 and in 1866 was appointed the first regular priest of the village - Marin Georgiev.
Originally the church was built without a bell-tower which was built later.
