In the village of Brusen (Etropole municipality) was built a memorial-ossuary (aka "Monument of the Unknown Soldier") dedicated to the 19 guerrillas from the detachment "Georgi Benkovski", who on June 26, 1944 died in unequal combat against the gendarme. Each year on this date is celebrated anniversary of the Brusen battle.
