The Bistritsa grandmothers (Bistrishkite babi) are famous female choir from village of Bistritsa who became known all over the world for their performances of archaic folklore from the Shoplouk region near Sofia. The Bistritsa Babi were included in UNESCO’s Masterpieces of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List.
