In 2013 a team who filming a documentary (led by Maya Vaptzarovа) found near the village of Mineralni Bani an unique Sundial, dating back more than 5,000 years. The place, where the clock is located, is difficult for access by people without special training and equipment. It could be reached through a very narrow passage between two rocks.
Only found such clock till now is located in Mexico, but unlike it, which has 5 steps, the clock to Mineralni Bani village consists of 7. Furthermore the steps, well preserved are also different grooves and holes. This sundial can measure not only the hours, minutes and seconds but also days, so that it was used as a calendar.
By conducting experiments, the team noting that the shadow made by a stick stuck in one of the holes, falls on a different stage exactly at period of one hour. The sun moves across the sky and for one hour it moves 15 degrees with a constant speed. According astronomers if there is a watch, which is in the same plane where the sun moves, it shows these angles.
The site near the village of Mineral Baths is coming to be fully explored soon.
