The White Monument (Monument of the Victory) lies in Park Stratesh, east of town of Lovech. It was built in 1902 to commemorate the victory of the Russian army in the fighting for the liberation of the town during the Russo-Turkish war. The place chosen for the monument is not coincidentally - there was the position from which the Russian artillery was shoot the Turkish Redoubt.
The monument is a 5 metre high truncated pyramid, ending with a cross. The overall height of the Memorial is 11 meters. On the West and East side of the monument there are six steps that lead to the white marble slabs on which are marked the date of the fighting and the participating Russian parts. The architect of the memorial is Vokar.
Part of the monument is decorated with the Russian imperial coat of arms.
From the site of the Memorial there is a beautiful panoramic view to the town of Lovech.
