Chapel "St. 40 Martyrs" is located on a hill (283 m) in the "Hasar" locality, southeast of village of Stalevo. This is a historical place. From here, in 1230, Tzar Ivan Assen II led the Klokotnitsa battle, when Bulgarians defeated the Byzantine army of Emperor Theodore Comnenus. It is believed that the stones in the area are part of the Thracian fortress and sanctuary Mileona.
Near the chapel there is a large stone (rock) with a hole called "Proviraloto". There is a belief that people who squeeze through it will be healthy. Most likely the stone was part of a sanctuary. Not far away there is another stone called "The stone of Krali Marko". It has four holes (small pools) on it resemble the steps. These pools collect water, which according to the local people, is not evaporated in the biggest heat. There is a belief that if somebody sprayed a sore spot with this water - he will heal.
