Ski resort Borovets (known in the past as Chamkoriya) is located 10km away of town of Samokov, in the foot of peak Musala (2952m, Rila Mountain) at 1350m above sea level. This is Bulgaria oldest mountain resort.
The resort is situated on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain among age old pine woods and offers excellent facilities for summer and winter holidays.
It has 58 km of marked pistes cover the generally north facing slopes up to an altitude of 2560 m, with many runs terminating near the village centre. The longest run is a gentle 12 km return to the resort along the maintenance road.
