Durankulak beaches
The village of Durankulak is very well known among the tourists who prefer to spend the summer in the middle of the nature, far away from the overcrowded and overbuilt seaside resorts. There are 3 beaches Around the village that are still "wild" and undeveloped and are suitable for tents and nudism. Two of these are guarded - the general "Durankulak beach" and the beach near the camping site "Karvuna" while the Northern Beach is unguarded. The sea water here is cool and crystal clear. There can be seen remnants of ships from different eras (including from the antiquity) in the sea.
The "Northern beach" of Durankulak is nearly 3 km long, reaching north to the eastern corner of the border with Romania (direction Silistra - Cape Sivriburun). The local name of this beach is "Ana Maria" after the ship ran aground in front of him in February 1969 during a storm. The seabed in its northern part (direction Romania) is very steep and deep.
The Southern beach of Durankulak is about 6.5 kilometers long and reaches almost to village of Krapets.
Between the northern and southern beach is located Camping "Cosmos".
