Via Ferrata Lednistata
Via Ferrata ("road with irons", from Via - road and Ferrata - Iron, Metal) is an adventure for the fans of the adrenaline. This is a mountain route which is equipped with a special equipment (fixed cables, stemples, ladders, bridges, ropes, railings, etc.).
"Lednitsata" is the first Bulgarian mountain route from type "Via Ferrata". It is located in the region of the village of Brestnitsa (Lovech district), in close proximity to two of the most attractive Bulgarian gaps - Malkata Lednitsa and Golyamata Lednitsa, not far away from cave Saeva dupka. Name of the gaps come from the fact that in the past the temperatures there were always under 0 degrees C and there are many ice formations. Nowadays there is no ice during the entire year, but both precipices are still impressive with its size and dangerously look.
"Via Ferrata Lednitsata" was open in 2007 and offers tours of varying difficulty - from challenging sleepers to easy vertical and horizontal walking. The use of the route requires mandatory special equipment (it can be rented on place) and there are special instructions for everybody. It is possible also an instructor to be hired. During the event the route climbs cliffs (somewhere with reverse batter), passes along rock crevices and caves, hangs over a 50 meters chasm, etc. which brings lots of adrenaline and excitement for the participants.
