Usteto is a rock gorge, located on the western riverbank of Yantra above the Preobrazhenski monastery, 5 km northern from the city of Veliko Turnovo. The place is very popular for rock climbing. The rocks are formed of solid limestone and become weathered and loose on the side of the monastery.
The local "Alpine Club Trapezitsa" holds very attractive shelter there (named "The Eagle nest") and is an organizer of climbing tours which have a different difficulty level and are perfect for rock climbing training. The plenty of rock forms allows a full training of rock climbers beginners.
