Memorial Dimitar Spisarevski place of death

Captain Dimitar Spisarevski is a Bulgarian hero - a pilot, died in 1943, guarding Sofia from the Anglo-American bombers. His plane was hit and damaged, but instead to escape, he voluntary directs his plane to the next enemy bomber and demolishes it. His heroism is not wide-known because during the communism he was forgotten and even he was declared a fascist (in 1943 Bulgaria  was allied with Germany and in war with the U.S.A. and England).

Plaque in honor of Dimitar Spisarevski was erected near the site where the remains of his plane were found - the "Strajarski Dol" area, north of the village of Dolni Pasarel.
