The Big and Small Vris (Golemiat i Malkiat Vrisove) are captured springs (fountains) located in the town of Malko Turnovo. They are 2 of the town symbols. There is a belief that if a guest of the town drinks water from the Big Vris fountain he will married for a local boy/girl and will stayed in the town.
It is believed also that in the past the place of the spring was a Thracian sanctuary of Apollo or Dionysus-Sabazios. Later, the source was revered as a holy spring of St. Varvara and there were made celebrating prayers.
