Kocho Chistemenski (1840-1876) was a Bulgarian revolutionary, remained in the memory of Bulgaria with his activity in the April Uprising 1876. During the suppression of the April uprising, he, along with his wife and infant daughter were among beleaguered defenders of Perushtitza - in "St.Archangel" church. Understanding that the rebels will not withstand the Turkish army, Kocho killing his wife, his child and then his self in order nobody of his family to be catched alive by the Ottomans.
Kocho Chistemenski was born in village of Dinkata (Pazardzhik region). As a sign of gratitude and on the occasion 175 years since his birth, on 1 June 2015 in the village of Dinkata was opened "Monument Kocho Chиstimenski".
