Kozarnika Cave

Kozarnika cave is located in karst region, 6 km away of the town of Belogradchik in direction Oreshets railway station. It is opened to the south, at 85 m above the valley. The cave is 210 meters long and in last years was well studied. There were uncovered 21 geological layers containing archaeological complexes of Early Lower Paleolithic, Middle Paleolithic, Early Upper Paleolithic, a sequence of an original Paleolithic blade-lets industry with backed pieces that scholars called Kozarnikian, Early Neolithic, Late Copper age, Late Bronze Age, Medieval and Late medieval periods.

The road to the cave Kozarnika is asphalted except the last 100 meters.
