Provartenika rock phenomenon

Provartenika rock formation is located west of town of Lukovit and north of village of Karlukovo. It has a form of majestic stone tower which rising over a dozen other smaller towers. The big tower has a big hole on its top and during the summer and winter solstice the sunbeams passes there. It is believed that in ancient times this place was an ancient observatory.
Nowadays Provartenika is declared a natural monument.
