Monument of Dyado Pune, Slivnitsa

The monument of Dyado (grandfather) Pune in Slivnitsa was erected in recognition of his fellow villagers.

Paun Kolev Zlatkov (1828-1919) (aka Dyado Pune), was one of the most prominent donors in Slivnitsa. Dyado Pune was donated lots of the funds (in money and lands) for the construction and the maintenance of the church "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Slivnitsa and the elementary school, funds for building of the town-hall and the park in front of the Military Club. Some of his properties the prominent Bulgarian was endowed to the poor and landless people.
