The Medieval rock church St. Petka is situated in the locality Barintsi of town of Trun. The church is filled with mystery. According to the legend, St. Petka lived in the cave above the town of Tran after fierce persecution for her Christian fate. Later the cave was turned into a chapel and the saint became the patroness of the town.
In 1853, at the foot of the rock temple, on the foundations of an older church was built one of the most representative cult buildings from the period of Vazrajdneto (the Bulgarian Renaissance) in Tran region - today`s a church cemetery, which also was called St. Petka.
