The Monastery of St. Luke (a nunnery) is located at the northern foot of Osogovo mountain in the area "Pustia manastir" ("The deserted monastery"), about 2 km southwest of the village of Granitsa and 8 km south of the town of Kyustendil. It was founded in X century.
Like most of monasteries in the Bulgarian lands the Granichki Monastery was repeatedly destroyed by the Turks during the Ottoman yoke. In its present form it exists since 1948. It is a complex of one-nave church without a dome. At its west facade are attached tower and residential buildings that nowadays provide accommodation to visitors.
According to legend, in the monastery was studied St. Ivan Rilski. In XV century abbot in the monastery was Jacob - the father of Restorer of Rila Monastery Joasaph, David and Theophanes. In the monastery yard was built fountain dedicated to the three monks, who were from the village of Granitsa.
Nowadays the monastery is operating and was declared monument of culture.
